304 Stainless Steel Stamping Parts
What is 304 Stainless Steel Stamping?
304 Stainless Steel Stamping is a universal precision forming process specifically designed for 304 series stainless steel (austenitic stainless steel, containing 18% chromium and 8% nickel) sheets. It processes 304 stainless steel sheets into various structural parts, functional parts, and hygiene-grade components through customized or standardized molds and stamping equipment. The core characteristics of 304 stainless steel include good corrosion resistance (resistant to atmosphere, fresh water, and weak acid-base media), hygiene and non-toxicity (complying with food-grade standards), excellent formability (elongation ≥40%), stable strength (tensile strength 480-600MPa), and self-healing passivation film. The stamping process achieves integrated and efficient mass production of parts, with core features of "triple advantage superposition of universal adaptability, hygiene and corrosion resistance, and cost balance", making it suitable for mass production scenarios with general corrosion environments, high hygiene requirements, and medium-low temperature working conditions.
Compared with 316 stainless steel stamping, its core difference lies in that 304 does not contain molybdenum, resulting in slightly weaker pitting and crevice corrosion resistance, but lower forming difficulty and more advantageous cost. Compared with carbon steel stamping, its core advantage is no need for rust prevention treatment and hygiene non-toxicity, making it a mainstream stainless steel stamping solution balancing performance and economy, accounting for more than 70% of stainless steel stamping parts applications.
How It Works
The core of 304 stainless steel stamping is "balancing efficient forming and basic corrosion resistance". It adapts to its physical properties through mature processes, achieving a balance between mass production and quality stability. The key processes and control points are as follows:
304 Stainless Steel Sheet Preparation: Select 304/304L/304H stainless steel sheets with a thickness of 0.3mm-10mm; pre-treatment includes oil-free cleaning (removal of surface oil and impurities to protect the passivation film) and precision leveling (flatness error ≤0.01mm/m). Cold-rolled sheets are preferred (surface roughness Ra≤0.2μm, suitable for hygiene-grade/precision parts), and hot-rolled sheets are suitable for structural parts.
Mold Adaptation and Anti-sticking Design: Molds are made of Cr12MoV hardened steel or cemented carbide, with TiN coating treatment on the surface (hardness ≥HRC 65) to avoid sticking; the mold clearance is set to 1.1-1.2 times the material thickness (adapting to 304's good ductility), and fillet design (R≥0.4mm) reduces stress concentration; the blank holder
